You may not upgrade from a suite to an individual program... you may only upgrade from "A" to "A" not "A" to "B"
So... what do you have, and what are you trying to install?
As I said pretty clearly I would have thought. I have CS5 albeit Design Standard and have purchased CS6 Design and Web. Having read and re-read the caveats on the Norwegian site that I am forced to download from (and pay a lot more than from the US site), I can find no loophole for Adobe not to accept the license number.
>As I said pretty clearly I would have thought
Not clear at all... you said "from CS5.1 to CS6" without giving a program or suite name
>have CS5 albeit Design Standard and have purchased CS6 Design and Web
You are not upgrading to the same product... when I go to the CS6 purchase page, there are separate links for Design Standard and Design & Web Premium... so, as I said in my first reply, your existing product does not qualify as an upgrade
>can find no loophole for Adobe not to accept the license number
Cancel/Return your Design & Web Premium and buy the upgrade to Design Standard if you want an upgrade price
Thanks for the quick clarification. So what you're saying is that if I want Dreamweaver I must buy the whole thing outright?
I am not Adobe, just another member trying to help... all I can say is that upgrade pricing only works for the same product
If what you have does not include Dreamweaver, and what you want does include Dreamweaver, my understanding of the process is you either pay full price for the new suite you want, or upgrade for the suite you have and full price for any additional program(s)
It appears that you are upgrading from Design Standard CS5.5 (volume license) to Design & Web Premium CS6 (single user).
Design Standard CS5.5 to Design & Web Premium CS6 is a valid upgrade path but a single user upgrade does not accept a volume license as a prior version during installation.

No volume license involved here, I'm afraid. I am a single user and have been since about 1998... I will contact chat support.
