    How do I warp text to fit inside my banner?

    clazface Community Member

      Hey there! I made a lot of logos in Photoshop and now I'd like to turn them into Illustrator vectors for sale. I've managed to live trace the .pngs, but now I've got the issue that depending on who buys the logo I'll have to change the text inside the banner. In the image below I'd like to replace the custom-made font thingy with just a normal font (Orator) but I'd like to get the font into the same wavey shape that it is below.

      How can I warp the text inside the white banner shape?

          Hey guys, sorry! I fixed it by deleting the initial wavey banner and then:

          > Creating a rectangle

          > Creating a text box and typing in "DEALER"

          > Grouping the rectangle and textbox

          > Placing the grouped object over the fox shape where the white banner used to be

          > Going to Edit > Warp > Flag

          > Changing the curvature of the flag until it matched the banner shape that used to be there

            clazface,

            You may:

            1) Create a nostroke/nofill rectangle corresponding to the unwarped basic shape of the banner on top of the text and Group the two;

            2) Create a copy of the warped banner on top of the original and move it above the Group in the stacking order (Ctrl/Cmd+X+F will do it);

            3) Select 1) and 2) and Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Top Object.
