PPT to Captivate - No Audio?

We've been trying to convert PPT files to SCORM compliant courses. I've demoed a ton of different apps and none of them have all the features we need. The biggest missing feature is the ability to convert existing embedded audio (for each slide). I was surprised to find out that captivate doesn't do this either. If captivate could bring in the audio, there would be no need for us to look at these other apps, none of which are complete in my opinion. Captivate does everything else we need. If only it had this feature. :(

I realize that we can manually import the audio for each slide, and that would work great except that we are talking about 60 slides per PPT file. For the amount of time we'll spend doing it we are going to purchase another app that will do it for us. It will pay for itself on the first project we do (about $200).

So you might say, "Well, just do the conversion. You'll only have to do it once right?" Wrong. The PPT files are owned by the business (in this case instructors at our hospitals). They make tons of changes to the material all the time. We need a quick easy conversion process that allows us to take their files each time they modify them and drop them into our LMS.

It would be nice if it retained transitions as well like some of these other apps but the most important feature to us would be the audio.

Has anybody else had any luck with this? Is it possible to script captivate the way that you can script dreamweaver and flash?

      Thanks for any suggestions.
