Can I add notes, description etc to a Virtual Copy?

I need to make a series of subtle corrections to match an output. I want to use Virtual copies. But I can't see how I can for instance label copy 1 "Reduced Saturation" or "-10 Clarity"

With several VCs of the same original image, If I try to change something in meta data it copies over to its siblings as well.

Any Ideas.

I can change the title, caption, user comments, copy name and others fields for the virtual copies without it transfering to the siblings. Do you have Auto Sync turned on or multiple photos selected in grid.

I could not solve the problem of the changes sticking, or not carrying over to the sibling VCs. I found a less optimal option by using snapshots and naming them. But my changes can only be made linearly. I can't start with a base image and create 4 different developments.

I can make changes, save a snapshot then build upon that, save and name a new snapshot.

I just can't believe I can't easily change the name on a VC.

I believe what you say that you can make these metadata changes independently. But that isn't my experience.

At first I did not have Auto save XMP on, then read why I should have it on so it is ticked on now. But the way things are working is the same.

I wasn't talking about Auto Save XMP, I was talking about AUTO SYNC with multiple photos selected in Loupe View. Make sure this is OFF. This seems wierd that you can not have different metadata on your machine as others and myself have been able to do this. Have you tried a new test catalog or trashed your preferences file.

I do not have auto sync on. I haven't tried a new catalog since I'm right in the middle of printing some large canvases, and don't want anything weird to happen at the moment. But I will as soon as I can. Thank you. I wish you could just right click the image and go to RENAME, or TITLE. Make life so much easier. Particularly like me, have multiple versions of the same image. That is what I love about VCs.

If you are in grid mode, you have to have this option checked in order to do one photo at a time:
or deselect all photos except the one you want to edit.
