1. Re: Font changes when viewing site on ipad?
Vinayak_Gupta Mar 27, 2014 5:22 AM (in response to Ben Stanbury)Lucida Sans does not appear to be a font installed with iOS7. So probably it falls back to the next one in the family which is Lucida Grande (which is supported).

Ben Stanbury Mar 27, 2014 7:07 AM (in response to Vinayak_Gupta)Thanks Vinayak,
So do you mean I have to change the desktop font to Lucida Grande to have it display as Lucida Grande on iOS devices?
I don't see this font listed in Muse?
Thanks,
Ben

3. Re: Font changes when viewing site on ipad?
Vinayak_Gupta Mar 27, 2014 9:22 AM (in response to Ben Stanbury)On another look at the article I linked to, it appears that Lucida Grande is actually one of the fonts that iOS apps can download if necessary, and is not one of the pre-installed fonts. The way that feature works is described here (note that a font won't download if a website is requesting it via a browser, seems to works with just apps like Pages, Keynote etc. that request it and once downloaded can be used within the app. only) - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5514436.
Yes, it isn't a web-safe font and hence isn't listed in Muse, I was actually referring to the font family where Lucida Sans would fall back to Lucida Grande and so on if the device supports it. And as iOS supports neither of those, it defaults to sans-serif which is the last in the stack.
So either use a different font that iOS supports, or use web fonts, or if you have Lucida Sans installed in your system, apply it as a system font through Muse (that would export the text as an image) or if you have the .ttf file for the font, you could take advantage of the CSS3 font face rule if that helps - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5124151.

Vinayak
