Anything you place on a master page will be the same on each document page that uses that master page. If you want the same text on every page, place one text frame on the master page.
Oh, I should have been more specific. Sorry.
The textboxes are actually not on all 24 pages. I've made masters already, but not including textboxes since they are not on all pages and are not placed the same place on the different pages.
There is a place and Link option in the Edit menu.
What this does is when we select a text box and invoke this option it loads the placegun and when you drop it anywhere it is linked to the initial frame. You can see the link in the links panel also.
Now onwards whenever you make any change to the first frame all pther frames will go out of date and can be updated easily either from the Links panel or right on the object it self.
You can get more info about this searching for linked text in the InDesign Help.
This feature is CS5.5 onwards.
My first time using a forum. I can't figure out how to reply directly on
the discussion page - there's no reply button!
Anyway, it seems clever and probably what I need. Unfortunately I've got
CS5. So I guess there's no smart way, which surprises me - didn't anybody
have the use of this function before? Strange.
Thanks so much. I'm not sure what to do with the points thing. Sorry about
me beeing a newbee.
If there's no reply button it means you haven't signed in.
For CS5 the best you can do is put the text in a separate file, then place that file multiple times like a graphic. For changes, you edit the other file, then update the links.
Ok. Thanks. I'll see if I can make that work.
