1. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright Mar 28, 2014 10:47 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)PhotographyStudent Error 207 indicates that your connection with the Adobe server timed out. Are you connecting over a managed network? If not then please try a wired connection if you are connecting wirelessly. If you are already one a wired connection please try a different cable.

2. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Keith_Reeder Mar 29, 2014 5:49 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)I'm getting the same error (Win 7 64 bit box), and there's nothing wrong with my wired internet connection, my cabling or my firewall settings.
I also don't intend to follow the "help" provided by Romit here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1436954?tstart=30 - System Restore? Downloading unproven, probably dodgy software?
Good grief.
This a problem - one way or another - at Adobe's end. As Adobe staff, I expect you to push this to someone that can do something useful about it, Jeff.

3. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright Mar 29, 2014 1:34 PM (in response to Keith_Reeder)Keith_Reeder if you try an alternate Internet connection do you face the same difficulty? If so then have you tried temporarily disabling your security software?
-
4. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Keith_Reeder Mar 30, 2014 12:31 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)I don't have an alternate internet connection, Jeff - this is domestic/personal use.
Yep, tried with my firewall deactivated, with the same result - the installer fails at the "Downloading Creative Cloud desktop" stage.
This page:
covers error 207, "helpfully" confirming that there was a downloading error and pointing at the firewall, but as I say, I've tried on multiple occasions with my firewall disabled, and I still get:
However, even though there's no obvious reason why it should matter (it's not a firewall) I've also tried having disabled my AV (Bitdefender), which has actually worked.
Might be worth Adobe updating its own guidance to make clear that both firewall and AV may need to be disabled in this situation.

5. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright Mar 31, 2014 7:53 AM (in response to Keith_Reeder)I am sorry Keith_Reeder but the error is quite clear. Your connection to the server is timing out resulting in an Error Code 207. If you are unable to use an alternate Internet connection then I would recommend contacting your Internet service provider or simplifying your Network topology to see if you can find the fault.

6. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Keith_Reeder Mar 31, 2014 10:22 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Did you even read my post, Jeff?
I don't need to be told that the error means - I can read. It does not say my connection is timing out, it says the server is not responding. Not remotely the same thing.
Besides, as you'll note if you read the post above yours, I managed to get things to work by also disabling my AV: and it's a pretty crappy state of affairs when the only way get your software to work is for me to completely disable my internet security.
Nice job, Jeff. And you get paid for this?

7. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright Mar 31, 2014 10:54 AM (in response to Keith_Reeder)My apologies Keith_Reeder I missed the portion which indicated that disabling Bitdefender resolved your issues. Which specific version of Bitdefender are you using?
Have you tried utilizing the Adobe Creative Cloud Service Access Documentation for IT section of http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html to add exceptions to your Bitdefender software?

8. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
PabloMosca Apr 5, 2014 10:39 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)I was getting this error as well. Yes we are in a corporate environment and we do not have a proxy server or other fitlers. Yes we have a firewall but it does not block anything on port 80.
The only way we got around it was by clicking the RETRY about 10 times, which clearly means its not something on our network blocking it. It clearly is a lag or slowness issue on the Adobe server or our internet connection, which is 3 T1s, which should be enough.
I think its jut slowness on the Adobe side..

bruno71 May 8, 2014 6:48 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)I am having the same trouble. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro with no firewall and no AV software and a 10MBps Internet connection. Continually clicking "Retry" seems to be making some very slow progress...but no solid success yet.

11. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright May 8, 2014 7:10 AM (in response to bruno71)Bruno71 you are welcome to download the base install files by following the directions listed at Download New Adobe CC Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant/Manager) | ProDesignTools. You will still need to download and apply the updates after the base installers have been downloaded.

12. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
bruno71 May 8, 2014 8:35 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)Thanks for the link, Jeff. But that kind of defeats the purpose of a central management tool. Any word on getting the issues fixed with the desktop installer?
-
13. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright May 8, 2014 9:45 AM (in response to bruno71)Bruno71 as previously discussed Error 207 indicates a download failure. In specific the Creative Cloud Desktop application is no longer able to communicate with the download server.
If the direct download method is working then please look at your security software or network configuration to ensure that the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop application downloads are not being compromised.

14. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
bruno71 May 9, 2014 10:27 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)After further testing and continual 'Retrying'...It looks like the content scanner in our Cisco ASA 5510 firewall was causing the problem. When the desktop app was trying to download, the content scanner showed "Unscanned:Corrupt_Compressed_File_Detected". It said that the files were unscanned and passed on, but something kept causing it to hang in the middle. Perhaps there is something in the .ZIP files that the app was downloading which was flagging these security measures. Either way, it seems to be working now.

Jeff A Wright May 9, 2014 11:32 AM (in response to bruno71)Bruno71 thank you for this information. If you have any documentation you can reference on how to resolve this issue with the router would you mind posting it for future viewers of this discussion?

16. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
bruno71 May 9, 2014 11:46 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)For my particular firewall, I had to log in to the CSC SSM web interface and disable the Web (HTTP) file scanning. When I did, the desktop app installation completed just fine. Then I re-enabled the file scanning. Since then, the actual program download & installation (Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.) seems to work just fine.

joshwally Jun 5, 2014 11:36 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)None of this has been slightly helpful. It's only led to more time wasted. This error 207 is a ************** headache. The more I research, the more angry, unsatisfied people I find.

19. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Wongadob Jun 13, 2014 2:24 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)I am also experiencing the same issue. I have all my anti-virus software disabled, Windows firewall disabled, and still it just hangs and eventually comes back with the same errors shown above. it is the installer
This has lost me 2 days so far of work as I am supposed to be evaluating your flash tools!
Please can somebody look at this issue, it seems to be very common. If so many people are having to disable firewalls & anti-virus software I would suggest adobe needs to find a better installation solution. Or at least have full product direct downloads!

20. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
joshwally Jun 16, 2014 9:44 AM (in response to Wongadob)I've been having luck with the Creative Cloud Packager. Find it at Manage Your Team / Admin Tools / Deployment Tools. This route is still finicky, but we've gotten most of the programs installed so far. But yeah, either way, they need to solve the issue if so many people are having the problem. They jacked up their profits by switching to this monthly subscription format, but then we're all dealing with this kind of crap. It's been ridiculous!

21. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Romsinha Jun 20, 2014 11:54 AM (in response to joshwally)Please follow the below mentioned steps:
1. Download and install AAM from here:
Win: Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager
Mac: Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager
2. Launch AAM and it will auto update to Creative cloud desktop.
Kindly let us know whether it worked.

joshwally Jun 24, 2014 9:34 AM (in response to Romsinha)I've gotten my programs installed, although the downloads have worked very inconsistently. My new adventure is trying to find out why my computer keeps crashing when I have a couple programs open. I'm on Windows 7. I think it doesn't like something about the new Acrobat. It will do it in Photoshop as well. I'm working along for a few minutes and then my screen goes black as my computer shuts down / restarts out of nowhere. I've never had so much trouble with software before.

Yep, I'm seeing this with PS CC 2014 as well - PS CC was stable, but the latest update is positively scary to use.
Not very happy about this.

Inspektor Jul 1, 2014 4:05 AM (in response to Romsinha)Hello,
I've got the same issue with Creative Cloud installer hanging on error 207. I have downloaded AAM, it starts well but finish at step "Updating Adobe Application Manager" with an error "The remote server is not responding in a proper manner. Please retry after a few minutes."
I have also tried to connect my computer to home network without proxy and firewall but symptoms were completely the same.
Can you help me how to install already purchased Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC please?
Thanks and regards,
Ivan

Ben Bishop Jul 20, 2014 3:57 PM (in response to Keith_Reeder)Thanks Keith Reeder. I'm going through a reinstall and had the very same issue with 207 despite an otherwise fine network connection. Disabling BitDefender did the trick.
Adobe should pay you more (Praise be the users!)
And the Adobe Creative Cloud team should look at how other software delivery applications work, like Steam. Easy to install, update, repair and uninstall, and much better feedback as to what the system is doing.

32. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Ben Bishop Jul 24, 2014 6:26 PM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Hi Jeff,
An FYI rather than a problem. I just installed the 1.7.1.418 update, with Bitdefender on.
CC update got to 12% before timing out with "The server is not responding currently. Please try after some time.(Error code: 207) Contact Customer Support"
Clicked 'retry' and it quickly jumped to 15%, then slowly staggered to 30%, then timed out with the same error as above.
Again clicked 'retry' and it rapidly finished. During this last try, I opened Resource Monitor and caught CreativeCloudSet-Up.exe pulling about 361 kB/s (on a 433kB/s Internet connection).
I haven't noticed Bitdefender affecting on other software delivery services (eg, Steam game downloads/updates).
Again, this is just an observation, not a problem report

33. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright Jul 25, 2014 7:59 AM (in response to Ben Bishop)Thanks for the update Benro. I still unfortunately have not had the opportunity to test Bitdefender personally. Is there any options within Bitdefender to not interfere with download requests from specific applications?

PT Photography Jul 26, 2014 8:19 AM (in response to PhotographyStudent)I got the same problem! Tried with firewall disabled, tried on an other network, tried even on a new clean installation...
It looks for me like a adobe homemade problem - It's a shame to pay for this poor quality of service...

PT Photography Jul 26, 2014 8:31 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)I'm sorry to enter here...
That's not a Bitdefender problem. I'm here on a 'nude' Win 7 PC with nothing else installed than the OS with I's actual SP's and fixes. The Cloud setup doesn't work even on this PC !?

36. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Jeff A Wright Jul 26, 2014 2:35 PM (in response to PT Photography)Peter in this discussion it does appear that Bitdefender was the cause. There can certainly be other causes of Error 207. Please feel free to review the steps listed within this discussion.
If you are continuing to experience error 207 then I would recommend starting a new discussion with the specifics of the errors you discover in the download log.

37. Re: Error 207 For 'Adobe Installer'
Ben Bishop Jul 28, 2014 2:32 AM (in response to Jeff A Wright)Jeff, Bitdefender Free Edition doesn't have any configurability, its beauty is that it is a lean anti-virus shield and scanner. I haven't noticed it affect other apps, not like it does Creative Cloud Desktop.
I've PM'd you some screen recordings of the issue on the off chance there might be something useful in it.
