Where did you download it from?
Is it a fully licensed version or just the product demo? Did you go to Help/check for Updates to ensure you have the latest updates?
Are you saying that it has never opened and will not open at all, or that it crashes when you try to add video to it?
What are the processor and RAM specs for your MacBook?
I downloaded the program from Amazon -- it is a fully licensed version.
It has never opened at all, so I can't get Adobe updates. I've made all the updates to my MacBook.
My computer is a MacBook Pro with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 8 GB of memory.
I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements at the same time, and it works fine.
Thanks for your help!
Open Photoshop Elements, go to its Help menu and check for updates.
Both programs launch the same updater.
Meantime, be sure to check your Mac for corrupted fonts. They are the single most common reason for the program crashing unexpectedly on OSX.
Thank you for the tips. I downloaded the Adobe updates and also removed several fonts that didn't pass the validation test.
I uninstalled Premiere Elements and reinstalled it, checked for udpates again, but am still getting the same message: "Adobe Premiere Elements Editor quit unexpectedly." The program won't open.
I'd return it if I could but Amazon won't let me.
Do you have any other suggestions for me to try? I appreciate your help!
Sorry no. Once I updated and cleaned my Mac, the program ran beautifully for me.
You may want to call Adobe Tech Support. They may have an OSX patch that could help you.
