    Increasing size of completed table

    shampayne
I have a completed table, which was originally 7 rows and four columns. (In setting out what I wanted, some of the rows have now more or less than the original four columns)

I now want to add an extra column on the left of the table. I realize that I could set up another table of seven rows and FIVE columns and transfer everything over but that I feel would be too much work . Is there a way to add an extra column to the left of my existying table.

place your cursor in any left column cell and rightclick
select TABLE and then select INSERT ROWS OR COLUMNS and specify you want it
to the left of the column with your cursor.

This is a bad practice that can lead to fragile tables.

There may not be, depending on the condition of your current table. But if
your table is mostly orthogonal, without too many col- or rowspans, then you
can right click in the column, and select TABLE | Insert Rows or Columns....
