1. Re: Program monitor frozen but play bar and audio work in CS6
toddpretre Mar 31, 2014 7:13 AM (in response to toddpretre)Also, I can still select images and video clips from my bin at this point, but they show up as black in my source monitor. When I render the timeline BEFORE the freeze, it renders the video and two still images in the timeline before the layered grouping of cropped stills, then stops, citing the error messge listed above.

John T Smith Mar 31, 2014 9:08 AM (in response to toddpretre)More information needed for someone to help... please click below and provide the requested information
-PPro Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840
What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
ATI Driver Autodetect http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Some of this is from the Premiere Elements forum, but the idea of sizing pictures is the same for PPro or Encore
Pictures that are "overly" large may cause video editing problems

toddpretre Apr 2, 2014 2:38 PM (in response to JSS1138)Jim and John...
Thanks for the guidance. Jim, I had cleaned out the cache prior to my post, sorry to have forgotten that detail. That did not help out.
Here are my details:
GeForce GTX 670 - do not know adapter driver version...that is one thing over my head...hope to learn about it now, though
Windows 7 - 64 bit
i7 processor
16 GB RAM
120 GB ssd
The stills are from the client's camera, a point and shoot Canon. I've used 5D MkIII stills without issue. This is why I'm so confused with this problem. I will look into your links. If you have any further guidance now that you have my specs, please advise.
Thank you both for your help and guidance. The tech part of all this is not my strong suit. Much appreciated!
Todd

7. Re: Program monitor frozen but play bar and audio work in CS6
kobyzoshi Apr 2, 2014 3:55 PM (in response to toddpretre)I'm experiencing almost the same problem with the unfortunate twist that I have several projects in several different folders across two local drives, all using the exact same kind of footage that was ingested the exact same way, but only two of the projects are acting up. (I edit class lectures for a university, so I have a ton of near-identical projects. I can't find anything different that's choking just two or three of them. The problem first occurred about a year ago and I found no solution--one of the projects healed itself for reasons I don't know and the other one is still bad.)
I've tried importing the sequences to a new project, moving the project to a different folder, deleting all my render files, cleaning the cache, deleting the cache folders altogether, and updating my videocard driver. I'm trying trashing my prefs now. If that doesn't work I can post specs but mostly I'm going to follow this thread and see what works for you.
