It's not tied to a grid, there's no keep options set, so why?

      Hi all

I'm doing a newsletter in InDesign and keep having the problem of the program leaving gaps at the bottom of the first column and jumping a line (usually annoyingly orphaned) up to the top of the next column. I've tried removing all options I think might do that - there's no align to grids or keep options set - so I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. As you can see from the screen grab, there's plenty of room for that line to fit into the previous column.

      Can anyone help please?
