To clarify, our firms graphics team have had a number of issues with the new creative Cloud version of InDesign and would prefer to fall back on the CS5.5 version they are familiar with. We currently have one user who has CS5.5 still installed who hasn't detected any issues but we'd like to check the official stance on this before re-installing this for others
We're currently documenting the issues with Creative Cloud so we can address them seperately but we want to know what possible issues we might experience in the meantime if we reintroduce CS5.5 - would there be an issue running the Adobe updates or any conflict between program file usage if CC applications are being used at the same time ?
Having both Creative Cloud & CS5 Apps on the same machine wont do any harm on the machine.
They may take up some space on the hard drive but apart from that they wont interfere with your work.
In addition to CC, I have the permanent license version of CS4 on my PC. They do coexist just fine. CC updates will just involve CC. CS5.1 should have no further updates, but if any show up, you can install those with no problem.
CC files can be read by CS 5.1, but here's the caveat: If you create a file with a feature that only exists on CC, you cannot edit or adjust that CC property in CS 5.1
