I've got two heading stylesin my document that I want to include in the table of contents. I would like to exclude one of the headings (not the style, just the one heading in the document) from the table though, preferably without changing the heading's style, as I want it to look the same. Of course I could just delete it in the text, but once I update the table it'll come right back. Is there a way to do this?
Are you try to remove from TOC dialgo box?
If I'm reading you correctly, you have (for example) a style that is applied to two headings, and you want only one of the headings to be collected into your TOC. Is that correct?
If you made a duplicate of the heading style (maybe call it Heading No TOC) and set it to be based on the heading, it will look the same as the heading style and any changes you make to the heading will change in the duplicate.
Never used the style 'based on' setting. That solved my issue. Thanks!
