    chunk expression .color returning error

Greetings, this one shoudl be so simple it is driving me crazy. I'm trying to test and set the color of a word in a text field, containing ten comma separated words, as follows in Dir 8.5 message window:

      put member("test").text
-- "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten"

I can select a single word and set a color for it via the color picker.

However, I can't seem to figure out how to return or set the color of a word-chunk via lingo:

      put member("test").word[3].color
produces a Script Error: Wrong number of parameters.

I've also tried this using other chunks like item, line and char.

In the docs under "color" this example is given so it appears that it should work:
      member("myQuotes").char[4..7].color = rgb(200, 150, 75)

When I modify the field name and try this exact statememt, I still get the same error when setting or returning the .color property.

I figher it has to be something simple. Tried searching this forum back several years but no luck. Can anyone help? Thanks
