The scanner is an HP Scanjet 8300 Flatbed scanner (professional image scanner).
It worked (works) fine at the XP-machine. For the Windows 7 computer, HP redesigned the software and drivers (a lot!).
The new software is installed but the other-parties software that was original shipped with the scanner needs apparently the newer versions or updates. So, for image processing I have now Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, and the Organizer connected with. In the Organizer one can import (images) from the scanner, amongst other possibilities. But how to deal now with slides (transparancies)? I have a lot of 35-mm slides with cardboard or plastic frames, and also filmstrips. I would be fine to scan them in now. On the XP computer (years ago) the difficulty was the storage (of big files) and the slowness of the pc. These problems are now solved.
Has anyone a suggestion how to act; is it possible to realise this with Elements 12 (or what else?).
Thanks for help!
Why can't you scan the slides and save the scans in a folder on disk, then import them in to PSE?
I have a free-standing converter and have scanned a lot of old slides. In this particular model they are housed on a camera card which is inserted in the converter. From there I saved them in a library in WINDOWS 7.
