Working with an InDesign file created by another person, who I am unable to contact.
The space between the edge of the page and the margin guide (1/8th inch) is white. The grid lines don't show in this area, and any part of an object, frame or text disappears where it falls in this margin area.
This is all on screen, it has nothing to do with printer margins. There are no locked objects in the file, and this "white frame" in the margin is not on a master page.
When I change the document size, the white frame does not change size, and when I change the margin, the frame does not move.
What is this? How can I resize it or remove it?
It would be useful, but I need to resize the page!
Have you checked the layers? It sounds like there's a [Paper] border on the top.
You've mentioned you checked for master page elements and locked items.
It sounds like something on a highest layer, what does the layers panel show, and the flyout for the layer in question.
Select all, insert page, copy, paste in place, what is the result?
I was searching all over for some way that the margins could be made non-printing, and didn't even think to check for it on another layer.
Thanks for your help!
