If you create an image sequence then you can edit in Premiere Pro or After Effects. If you need to composite elements then AE is your best choice for creating shots, Premiere Pro is the best option for editing. Both will take some training. Start here for AE: AE Basics

            Welcome to the family.

Do you want to edit footage you ahve already shot? Premiere.

Do you want to caputre footage you have shot? Premiere.

Do you want to add special effects to footage you have edited and assembled? Premiere output to After Effects.

Do you want to learn how to design and shoot stop motion? Start searching on the interwebs and head to your local library to check out every book they have on the art and craft of animation. You will need a good manually controlled camera.

We have images we have already taken. Ideally want to bring them into an app to make them into a video with sounds and maybe add some visuals into some of the images.

I'd say this would be a good time to plan just what you want to do.  It's fun to experiment, but without a good plan of what you want to accomplish,  you'd have to select a good workflow, and there are a few different ones.  Choosing the wrong one makes life tougher.

For now, it sounds like you should start in Premiere, then go to After Effects.

Premiere. However, you have started in the middle of your project instead of at the beginning. Most of us would want to have many of the questions you are asking answered before we started shooting. Now you're in a position where you may need to decide you did your all of production incorrectly.

                  Answer these for us:

                  1. Do you have a story?

                  2. Do you have some ideas about how you are going to acquire your music and sound effects?

                  3. When you say you've already taken the images, what exactly does that mean? What format? How did you take them?

                  4. What is your release medium?
