    File encrption security?

    TAXMAN_1933

How secure are the files sent with Adobe SendNow? I have concerns because I need to send and receive tax returns and tax information from clients. The IRS is very particular about the security of tax information and I can be subjected to penalties and a lot of grief if I transmit a tax file and some of that  tax information "escapes" to an unauthorized viewer. I am interested in the security aspects of file encryption used.

While the files are encrypted using SSL while in transit to/from our servers, SendNow doesn't add any encryption to the files themselves.

You don't say how you are producing the tax returns, but I would think that there would be a way of adding password protection as part of the return generation process.
