I created some free printables for teachers and homeschoolers a while back that use special fonts (wingdings). The fonts are Open Source fonts from DaFont.com. Some of the fonts are not showing up as they should. They come up as plain letters instead of the wingdings. I created the PDFs in InDesign CS5. What can I do to fix this?
Here's a link to the page with the printables I created:
I'm having the most trouble with the wingdings below the word THINK not showing up properly.
Thanks for your help.
Is the fonts embeded when export to pdf?
Also on acrobat check document properties>fonts
If the fonts it's just on small area or line you can convert to outline (select text and from type menu>create outline).
Not every font can be embedded. Some fonts, TTF, often free fonts don't allow embedding, so they will be substituted with plain fonts.
The only solution is to buy or to use fonts which allow embedding.
