    Trouble/ slide show

    seniorgoofball Level 1

I had always used premier elements 7 to make a slide show.  I finally purchased 12 and I am having a real bad time.  I have not found a tutioral that even comes close to gining me step by step directions./

.  In 7 when I put a picture in the slide a mark showed up so I would know what pictures I put in I cannot not find any on 12.  I need help

What computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 12 on?

Let me see if I zero'd in on your question or not.

Open Prmiere Elements 12 to the Expert workpspace which has a Project Assets area. The Quick workspace does not.

In Project Assets, click on Panel Options, then View, and then List. It is the List view that will have green dot next each file that you have dragged to the Expert workspace Timeline.

          ExpertList.JPG

In this case, I have dragged 5 JPG from Project Assets to the Timeline. Note the green dot next to each of the files in Project Assets (See Used column). If you had used Panel Options/View/Grid, then you would see a green dot at the bottom left of the thumbnails representing the files dragged to the Timeline.

In the Quick workspace, there is no Project Assets. The import goes directly to the Filmstrip in the Quick workspace.

          Please review and consider.

Any questions or need clarification, please ask.

          Thank you.

                    Thanks for the follow up.

When you create a title in the program's Titler, you can

                    a. Use it as a file that goes before a clip on the Timeline (sort of an introduction file)

                    or

                    b. Use it to give the appearance of text in a clip....to do that the title goes on the Video track above the clip in which it is to appear.

                    • When you create a title in the Titler, it automatically is placed on the Timeline at the position of the Timeline Indicator. The track on which it is placed will depend on what is in the tracks already.
                    • The generalized answer is (1) image on VIdeo 1 (2) title on Video 2

Please review the following Adobe document on creating Titles

                    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS020935FC-7A12-48f2-8884-F8DC2D7E6985. html

                    Have you tried....

                    a. Before, place your photos in Elements Organizer 12 Albums.

                    b. In the Premiere Elements 12 opened project, Add Media/Elements Organizer, go to album, select photos wanted in that album, and then hitting the Add Media button there to get those selected photos into Premiere Elements Expert workspace.

That should get those photos into the Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace Timeline.

Please review the above and, if necessary, we can go into other variations on what you need done.

                    Thank you.

                        Please give clarification on

I GOT MY TITLE DONE, HOWEVER CAN'T GET IT MOVED.  I HAVE SAVED IT.

                        What did you do....

                        a. create the title in the Titler, highlight it in Project Assets, select File Menu/Export/Title, and obtained the title saved to the computer hard drive as a .prtl file......if so, you can bring that title into a Premiere Elements 12 project using Add Media/Files and Folders/ to get it in Project Assets from where you drag it to the Timeline (to Video Track 2) if you are going to show the title in the image below in Video Track 1)

                        or

                        b. create the title in the Titler and then save/close the project until you decide what next?

                        or

                        c. something else?

We will think about this some more once we have clarification on what was done.

                        Thanks.

Thank you I will let you know if it works.  Believe me 7 was a lot easier to use than 12 is.

Thanks for staying with the troubleshooting.

The 12 workflows will get easier soon. There was a drastic change in workspace as of Premiere Elements 11. Most is still there, but it often becomes a matter of trying to figure out where Adobe has put things.

But, again, if the clarification needs clarification, please do not hesitate to ask me "what am I talking about?"
