1. Re: Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay
Stan Jones Apr 16, 2014 5:15 AM (in response to TonyT83)Stick with ImgBurn.
Are you running Encore "as administrator"?

2. Re: Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay
TonyT83 Apr 16, 2014 6:22 AM (in response to Stan Jones)I presume so, I have admin access on my computer. Do I have to set something in Encore to tell it that I am administrator.
Do you know if it possible to make the menu's in Encore but then burn them using Imgburn? I thought that creating an ISO would allow me to do this but it didn't bring anything across. Imgburn just used it own default menu
Thanks

For DL DVD and Blu-Ray to write you must run Encore as administrator. This is different to using an administrator account & to access, right click the icon & select the "run as administrator" option instead of the usual open.
Creating an ISO should use designed menus - not sure why yours didn't, and suspect that the IFO files were missing or IMG wrote in a file based mode instead of creating a BD or DVD disc.

5. Re: Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay
TonyT83 Apr 16, 2014 3:24 PM (in response to TonyT83)Didn't work Neil. I ran the programme as an admin and tried first of all burning to disc from Encore (same problem as before with 'device not ready' coming up after 20 mins or so), then created a disc image and burned the disc using ImgBurn but again it used a stock (horrible looking) menu instead of the one i created in Encore. Is Encore just a waste of time do people think? Most people seem to be saying to just save yourself hassle and stay away from it. So far i have no reason to disagree with them!

John T Smith Apr 16, 2014 8:14 PM (in response to TonyT83)I always use Imgburn to write to disc, after having Encore write to an ISO file... and I have NEVER had a different menu show up on the disc
Imgburn does not author, it only writes what you give it (files or folders or ISO) to disc, so I have NO idea how you are getting a different menu

Stan Jones Apr 16, 2014 8:15 PM (in response to TonyT83)then created a disc image ... it used a stock ... menu instead of the one i created
Sorry, but that is not possible. When Encore creates a disk image, and you burn the image with imgburn (as an image, not just copying the image on the disk), you get exactly what you had in the project. Quality can be an issue, but not an entirely different menu.
I'm trying to imagine what is going wrong. Are you sure you burned the correct image?
Please post a screenshot of your Encore flowchart.
Encore has its issues, and many of us do not bother with burning from Encore. But it works very well for what it does. For the moment burn with imgburn. Something else is wrong with your project.

TonyT83 Apr 30, 2014 3:22 PM (in response to Stan Jones)It is possible that I am doing something silly but I was quite careful with each step. In saying that I am Encore newbie so any help you guys can give is genuinely very much appreciated. Here is a screenshot of my flowchart if that helps. In terms of burning the correct image I burned the ISO that Encore made?

9. Re: Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay
Stan Jones Apr 30, 2014 8:01 PM (in response to TonyT83)You have one menu in the project. Are you saying that you see a different menu in the image burned by imgBurn?
By burning the correct image, I mean whether you might have created a different image previously and burned that one.

10. Re: Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay
TonyT83 May 6, 2014 5:06 PM (in response to Stan Jones)I Have exported this project several times no and burnt the resulting ISO using imgburn but it results in a completely different menu to the one above, The names and the links I have set are there but the design/image is all different and is like a horrible brown 90s stock DVD builder. I have already wiped the l test disc that I tried to burn but could maybe do it again to take a screenshot and show you if you thought that would help?
would this possibly be linked to the fact I'm using the free imgburn? Do I need to buy a pro version or something?

11. Re: Adobe Encore Problem: 'Device Not Ready' when burning to BluRay
Stan Jones May 6, 2014 6:02 PM (in response to TonyT83)I don't recall this occurring with imgBurn or Encore doing the burning. I can only imagine that your project is corrupt.
I would create a new, test project, to see if the menus "behave."
Create a new Encore project, new name, in the new project settings make it Bluray.
Add menus from the library: Crib Menu HD and City Lights HD. On Crib, in properties, motion tab, click on the video option and hit delete (this will remove the motion from the menu).
On that same menu, delete the bottom two buttons. On the city lights menu, delete all buttons but the top.
Select the m2v file (from the Crib motion menu) and select new timeline. Select that timeline and set the end action as "Last menu."
On the Crib menu, link the top button to the City menu. Link the second button to the timeline.
On the city menu, link the button to the Crib menu.
Build to a BD image. Burn with ImgBurn. Are the menus the same?
