    Remove Tags

    johnlom Community Member

I inadvertenly added a keyword to a document in Acrobat XI Standard and I though I had removed it. It is no longer visible in the keyword property, but when I search the document the Keyword (Tag) is found. I can't find a way to view the metadata (tags) and remove the ones I don't want.  Is this possible in XI?  I appears I was possible in earlier editions.  I am using Windows 8.1 index search.

      You help will be appreciated.

            I don’t have “Tags” in \ Show/hide\Navigation Panes\.  I’m using Acrobat XI Standard.

            Thanks

I can add a bit of detail to the problem johnlom is facing - he orginally posted in a different, less visited subforum and I suggested he try here.

I am able to duplicate the issue using Acrobat Pro XI - just not figure out how to resolve it. After deleting a keyword from a PDF, verifying that it is gone from the list of keywords shown in the document properties, and saving the file - when I search for the keyword using Windows Search, it still detects the keyword. The keyword is not used in the document content, only in the keword that was deleted. If I export the metadata to XMP and search using Notepad++, the keyword is still there. I can make the phantom keyword go away by using the "Remove Hidden Information" or "Sanitize Document" tools, but those will remove other things that should be kept.
