I use chrome
Chrome has its own Flash Player plug-in embedded by Google, so what you installed has nothing to do with Chrome.
If you've followed the steps here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/enabling-flash-player-chrome.html and it still isn't working... AND you've installed the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
, then type "chrome://plugins" in the Chrome address bar.
Click "Details" at the top right and scroll to Adobe Flash Player in the list.
Disable the PepperFlash plug-in and restart Chrome. This will force it to "fall back" on the plugin for other browsers.
thanks for your help but I tried these suggestions and it still does not work
Can you access the site in other browsers?
IE or Firefox?
I have IE do you mean download the flash player in that
Bye the way nmany thanks for your time and help
thanks Mike I will try that tomorrow when I have time
Hi Mike sorry about the delay but thank you for sorting out my problem.
Your last advice about trying a different browser showed me that I should try to raise the BBC site on google chrome this I did and the flash player worked. previously I was using a icon direct to the BBC site not through google. I did not realise that software was so sensitive
Again thanks for you help and how can I give further points for your time?
Points don't matter.
