twenty_one Apr 21, 2014 1:56 AM (in response to straightlife)Yes, you get deeper blacks in four color press. Here's a 4 color black (also known as rich black), vs a grayscale K-only black (also known as 100K black). K-only for photos is mainly to reduce printing cost.
The main use for K only is for text, to avoid registration problems and to allow overprinting.

straightlife Apr 22, 2014 8:14 AM (in response to twenty_one)Been fooling around with plugin Toonit. It's pretty flexible. Lotsa white, outlines, mix with original. And Amazon will let you print "test" books tsp I can see how that works. My struggle is not to make a perfect Ansel Adams print! It's how to ADAPT my photos to low grade print process.
