I am writing an entirely custom video player that does not
use any pre-built components. I have an instance of the video
object on screen, with FLVs being fed in to via an XML script that
references a PHP page. It does
not reference a direct URL.

Thanks for your reply. I'm testing in flash - not in the
browser. Also, during testing I trace out ns.bytesLoaded from an
enterFrame function - and it returns 100% of totalbytes everytime.
And even 5mb in 1 frame can not be right.
I understand (your point about 5Mb), but I think if you check
it online you'll probably find it works. Don't think I've ever had
locally loaded files fire loading progress events. Can't say I've
paid much attention though relative to the filesize.
