Welcome to the family.
Open the online help system for After Effects and look for the audio preview function. Audio does not (and never has) played in realtime in AE. But you can do a quick preview render with audio. You can also disclose the audio waveform to help you while editing your motion graphics. The ray tracing options are also explained in the online manual. Turn it off. Don't even think of using ray tracing until you you've got a few hundred 2D projects out the door, then do a few hundred 3D projects. Then you can play with ray tracing.
Your Ray-traced warning shows that you do not have an Nvidia card installed or set up correctly. Standard comps will render just fine.
