1. Re: 2 problems I am facing now....
csuebele Apr 23, 2014 5:20 PM (in response to Josephrajp)To avoide banding, use 16 bit rather than 8 bit. The quick mask hanging is an issue.

2. Re: 2 problems I am facing now....
Chris Cox Apr 23, 2014 5:37 PM (in response to csuebele)The banding can also happen in some older video card drivers (due to precision problems in the shader compilation), or it could be just a bad display profile.

Josephrajp Apr 23, 2014 7:10 PM (in response to Chris Cox)Thanks chris & csuebel for the replies
I tried 16 bit too no use....
due to precision problems in the shader compilation
Any solution for this other than the drivers, because I have latest drivers installed....

4. Re: 2 problems I am facing now....
Chris Cox Apr 23, 2014 8:34 PM (in response to Josephrajp)Try setting the GPU mode to "Basic" to reduce the shader usage, then relaunch Photoshop.
If that doesn't solve it, then the problem is either the display, or the display profile.

Josephrajp Apr 23, 2014 9:01 PM (in response to Chris Cox)Thanks chris,
By setting the GPU mode to "Basic" quickmask & refine edge hanging problem solved.
The banding is still there even I set the display profile to default monitor profile also I tried to calibrating using spyder3pro....
Please help.....

6. Re: 2 problems I am facing now....
Chris Cox Apr 23, 2014 9:40 PM (in response to Josephrajp)OK, that means that the problem is your video card driver, at least for the hanging and drawing oddities.
The banding is either the display profile or the driver -- but "basic" mode should avoid most of the driver issues.
