I dominantly take night time photos of the stars and the milky way where the stars shift position in the night sky over 20 or 30 photos, but the foreground stays in a constant position. I need to be able to import edited photos from lightroom, copy the images and transform the originals into a background smart object. After that I align the photos and stack them via Layers -> Smart Objects -> Stack Mode -> Median; however, the Stack Mode icon is greyed out as if it is unavailable; however, this was advertised as a prime capability of the photoshop CS6 version I bought for $700.00. Can anyone tell me why I am not able to access this functionality?
The functionality was only available in Photoshop CS6 Extended.
But all the former extended features are now available in all versions of Photoshop CC.
