Neil Enns - Adobe Apr 24, 2014 6:11 AM (in response to Martin Lér)Hmm. Did the legacy Android viewer do this?

Tomek Kuczborski Apr 24, 2014 6:15 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)I think, that people who are setting their tablets to sleep in 30 seconds should have it that way. This is the OS prefs problem, not DPS.

3. Re: Android native viewer - how to disable display sleep?
Martin Lér Apr 24, 2014 6:26 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)To be honest, i have no idea. But users are complaining that other viewers (maybe for some local media, IDK) are over-riding this system setting.
Tomek, problem is, that because of this are giving us bad reviews :/, and it's not about content, but about viewer. And this request i've heard few times. And from my point of view it makes sense.

4. Re: Android native viewer - how to disable display sleep?
Tomek Kuczborski Apr 24, 2014 6:43 AM (in response to Martin Lér)OK., but this cannot be done just forcing the os to another fixed setting (of what? 3 minutes? 10 minutes?). It needs a customizable DPS Vewer entry in system settings, IMO.

MarekDEV Jun 25, 2014 3:09 AM (in response to Martin Lér)Bigger problem is that device goes sleep when playing audio. I'm asking this for years. (iOS/Android)

6. Re: Android native viewer - how to disable display sleep?
Exood Jun 25, 2014 4:30 AM (in response to Tomek Kuczborski)@Tomek - it's possible in regular iOS apps - you can stop idle time, UIKit allows it.
@Martin I don't know if it's possible on Android, and sadly - currently it's not possible in DPS at all.

7. Re: Android native viewer - how to disable display sleep?
David Herrera Jun 25, 2014 8:49 AM (in response to MarekDEV)MarekDEV: For foreground audio, as a user I'd expect for the audio to stop. Native Android hasn't implemented background audio, but, when we do in the next several weeks, we intend for background audio to continue playing when the device goes to sleep.
