I'd like to know if I have a foto that I edited & saved in Ps CC's image file format, can I just copy it over to Lightroom & will all edits remain intact?
I'm asking, b/c I'm just starting in Ps CC, I have Lightroom & I'm concerned about losing my images in Ps CC if I find it too complex for me & discontinue my Ps CC subscription & want to use them in Lightroom.
Lightroom reads PSDs fine.
But if you're not sure you're going to keep Photoshop, I'd use TIFF. It's a more universal format with much wider support, and it does everything PSD does.
LR will read layered PSD files If you save the PSD with the save option to Maximize PSD File Compatibility in your File Saving Options in your Photoshop Preferences set to Always (or when you select the box if you have it set to ask when saving).
Also note that you can save an image out of Photoshop as a .PSB (large file format for over 4gig file sizes) but those PSB files can not be read inLightroom.
