    HTTPService method problem

      Hi,

I'm using mx:HTTPService to try and request an xml file from a Rails server (Mongrel). The file is static, and I'm specifying method="GET". My flex app complains:

      [RPC Fault faultString="HTTP request error" faultCode="Server.Error.Request" faultDetail="Error: [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2032: Stream Error. URL: posr.xml"]. URL: posr.xml"]

In my rails console, the webserver claims to be attempting to field the request as a post. Does anyone know a way of testing to make sure the correct http method is being used? Or, for that matter, have any suggestions for debugging this? I'm new to flex...perhaps I'm missing something.

Ok...I think I found my problem. I was setting contentType="application/xml" For some reason this seems to cause the HTTPService to always post, regardless of what you specify on the method property. If anyone has an explanation for this, I'm curious to know why this might be.
