    Indesign book page order

    Jóhann Leó Level 1

      Hey there,

When laying out an indesign book document, is there any

way to reverse the page numbers on some pages?

For example, on this screenshot my first spread is my back

and cover, so the i want the book document to recognize

this as pages 8 and 1.

I went in the "book page numbering option" but could only

change the start page from there.

I probably wouldn't use the book feature for an 8-pager, but if you really want to, set a section start on the first document page of the first chapter as page 8, and another section start on the second document page of the first chapter as page 1.

I suspect doing things this way will SERIOUSLY screw up printing. It's always best to do the layout in Readers' spreads, first page and last page on their own in the correct locations. If you need a cover with cross-overs you can do it as a separate file (which you would want to so if it will print on different stock, anyway), or use copy/paste in place and crop to the gutter on a normal layout.
