The hardware is working fine, but Windows is spewing errors such as:

AdobeCaptivate.exe - Application error : The instruction at "0x08f4c01" referenced memory at "0x01d71fb4". The memory could not be "read".

      And...

PpsWaveRecord: AdobeCaptivate.exe - Application Error: The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x77e738b2.

      And...

PpsWaveRecord: AdobeCaptivate.exe - Application Error: The instruction at "0x08f4c21d" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read".

Hi marbreath and welcome to our community

By chance do you have a RealTek sound card in your PC? If you aren't sure, press and hold your Windows logo key followed by the Pause/Break key. This should produce the System Properties dialog. From there, click the Hardware tab and finally the Device Manager button. This should produce the Device Manager dialog. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers area. See if anything in that area relates to RealTek.

If so, you may be interested in the Captivate Hotfix described at this link.

Other than that, I'm a bit stumped.

          Cheers... Rick
