Hi, over the past few weeks there seems to have been a shift in the settings I had in In Design (using up-to-date CC version). When copying and pasting unformatted text across from Word my paragraph rules don't work any longer. They used to work but are now being overridden and I have to apply all text formatting manually. This is the case for ALL rules, whether they be headings, body copy, bullet points or whatever. It seems to have been since about the second to last 'upgrade' of CC. Anyone else having these issues and any ideas on how to get it back on track please? I have not made any changes to font settings in INDD at any time, but changes have been made by Adobe with the inclusion of Typekit now.
Use paragraph styles in InDesign from InDesign. Don't use Word's definition.
No text without paragraph style from InDesign.
No exception without character style from InDesign.
But not from imported Word definition.
Thanks Willi, but you seem to have missed where I said 'unformatted text from Word'. It also happens when I copy and paste from emails and anywhere else.
But as you describe you have some format overriding. How do you cpy & past? Do you simple paste (cmd/ctrl +v)? That might import Word's formatting or do you paste unformatted (cmd/ctrl + shift +v)?
