I created a file in Photoshop CS5 (a photo) and another in Illustrator CS5 (a graph) to place in my InDesign CS5 brochure. When the Photoshop and Illustrator files are placed in InDesign, they look blurry - whether viewed in InDesign, printed, or saved as a PDF. Can anyone give me some tips on how to fix this? Thanks!
First, set the display quality to high. View > Display Performance > High Quality Display.
Next, be sure you are using the correct PDF preset for the type of output (which is?). If you are printing from ID, make sure you set the Send Data field in the Output section of the print dialog to ALL.
For your Photoshop files, be sure you have enough resolution for printing after placing and scaling. You can view the "Effective PPI" in either the Info panel or the Link Information section of the Links panel (or customize the panel to show it in a column).
Thank you, Peter. I will try this!
