1. Re: FM 12.0.2 patch available now
David :D May 7, 2014 1:36 AM (in response to Arnis Gubins)I installed this patch this morning (prompted by a little Adobe Updater message in my system tray),
but now when I try to launch Frame's help, I get a pop-up saying "Cannot find HelpViewer.exe. Reinstall the HelpViewer and try again."

David :D May 7, 2014 4:14 AM (in response to Arnis Gubins)Also, if I go File > Publish, I now get the pop-up "Unable to launch publishing service". And the pod for multichannel output has disappeared. Do I need to re-install Frame?

3. Re: FM 12.0.2 patch available now
zandwich May 7, 2014 6:32 AM (in response to Arnis Gubins)I updated yesterday, as did two of my colleagues.
Today we needed to update a FM book. FM has an instant fatal error and closes. Great. Before the update, no trouble updating a book. We sent the error reports to Adobe. Sigh.

4. Re: FM 12.0.2 patch available now
zandwich May 7, 2014 7:43 AM (in response to zandwich)Well I re-built the book and it seems OK now. But I still think something in the update corrupted the book, since it was all fine before the update. At least we are back in business.

Arnis Gubins May 7, 2014 9:08 AM (in response to David :D)@David,
I haven't seen any of those issues with the installations here, so it looks like you might have something corrupted and/or missing in your installation. Did you install from the 12.0.1 patch base (FM usually checks for out of sequence patching)? The HelpViewer is a new item (so that one can use Help locally instead of having to go online all the time), so something may have tripped up during the patch installation. That probably also is the issue with the multi-channel publishing. Unfortunately, you're probably going to have do a re-install (make sure it's from an account that has admin privileges).

6. Re: FM 12.0.2 patch available now
David :D May 7, 2014 9:11 AM (in response to Arnis Gubins)Hmmm OK.
It's just that I am only running the 30 day evaluation in any case
(and had been thinking that I was going to stick with TCS4, as Frame12 didn't have a facility to do add HTML boilerplate footers to topics in a CHM) - but then I got the pleasant surprise this morning that 12.0.2 had this feature (and yes, I had 12.0.1 before that) - so to evaluate this new feature I need to re-install the trial (which comes as 12.0.1) and then let it auto-update again to 12.0.2...
I shall try this tomorrow!

7. Re: FM 12.0.2 patch available now
Arnis Gubins May 7, 2014 9:14 AM (in response to zandwich)Sometimes trying a MIFwash on the book file may clear out some cruft that FM finds unpalatable. Otherwise, creating a new book file may be required. If this happens again with other book files that were in use with the earlier versions of FM12, then please report it and drop a message here so that we have a heads up about a potential bug.
FWIW, I've just checked a couple of books I had worked on before the patch, but (so far) no problems.

David :D May 8, 2014 5:51 AM (in response to Arnis Gubins)Reinstalling the 30 day trial of Frame 12 then applying the update again appears to have worked... My 'days left' for the trial stayed at the right number too.
