I am having trouble with my flash player on my windows surface rt

My flash player was working and I was able to go to the websites and now it will not work.  It says to update it and we have tried everything that it has told us to do and it still is not working.  My husband need it for his homework and my daughter plays a few games on it as well.  Mary
