    Disk configuration on configurable laptop

    João Grilo

      Hi.

I´m ordering a new laptop (configurable). I´ll be using Premiere and AE for 1080p video editing and photography.

It will be an i7 with 16gb.

I was thinking on something like this for the disk setup (4 sata3 ports available):

      - samsung evo 250gb for the OS.

      - Two 1TB 7200 rpm 32mb in raid 0 for the media.

      - samsung pro 128gb for export and cache.

Would it be better for a laptop having everything in ssd's?

I have several 7200rpm disks of my old desktop that i plan connect by the usb3.0 port, so i have lots of space there for store some files.

      Would you recomend something like:

      - samsung evo 250gb for the OS.

      - samsung pro 128gb for export and cache.

      - I can put two more ssd's for media

I read here in the forum that samsung evo is not a good choice when writing from premiere. Considering this, what's your advice on the disks setup?

      Thanks for helping.
