I'm on CS5.5, but I think this particular thing -- directly addressing an item by its script label -- has been broken since CS5.
You can try something like this:
tell application "Adobe InDesign CC"
tell document 1
set myItems to every text frame whose label is "ProductCopy 2"
tell parent story of item 1 of myItems
set contents of insertion point -1 to "This is some copy I want to add" & return
I see I have rendered you speechless....
Did my suggestion work for you?
Thank you for your answer.
Yes that worked just fine.
Sorry to take so long to get back to you.
I have been totally distracted with other fires to put out and just got back to this today.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
I don't know how to mark this as a correct answer so that Mary gets credit.
Great, Mike, glad to hear that worked for you. No worries about the delay in replying. I know how it goes with "other fires"!
Re: marking as correct, I'm not sure but my guess is that it's under "Actions" in the lower left corner of the message box. I don't see any choices there since I'm not the author of this thread, but you might see something else. At least that's the corner that "correct answer" pops up in when the forum automatically (often incorrectly) marks something as a correct answer....
