1. Re: Photoshop CS6 Open/Save Dialog is Too Big! How can I reduce the size? (OS X)
Trevor.Dennis May 10, 2014 1:20 AM (in response to spdorsey6969)In Windows, Photoshop remembers the last size used, and does so even after restarting the program. I've never thought to try it before, but I just tried dragging the Open File dialog window to my second monitor, and it remembers that setting as well. It does the same thing with the Brush panel, and other dialog boxes I expect. ISTR there used to be a Preference setting about saving last used panel positions, but it is not in CC (I don't have CS6 installed any more).
The above feels too obvious for you not to have tried it, so is it not working for you?

Chris Cox May 10, 2014 1:14 PM (in response to spdorsey6969)The OS open/save dialogs are resizable, just grab a side (or the lower right corner) and resize it.

spdorsey6969 May 12, 2014 9:41 AM (in response to Chris Cox)I know they are resizable. That's not the issue.
The issue is that they always appear the same (large) size when they pop up. I have actions that require the user to drag specific folders into the save dialog, and the dialog covers a good portion of the window so it needs to be moved out of the way every time. It's annoying.

4. Re: Photoshop CS6 Open/Save Dialog is Too Big! How can I reduce the size? (OS X)
Chris Cox May 12, 2014 12:23 PM (in response to spdorsey6969)Well, the OS dialogs are supposed to remember their size, but it sounds like something has gone wrong.
Unfortunately, those are OS dialogs and not under the control of Photoshop itself.
You can try trashing the ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.photoshop.plist file where the OS stores most of it's application specific settings -- sometimes that file gets corrupt and the OS features can act flakey.

schunter08 Sep 2, 2014 8:42 AM (in response to spdorsey6969)Double click in the upper left hand corner of the open/save as dialog box.
