are you using flash player 9 in your ie6 and ie7?
They have both got the latest Flash 9 plugin (9,0,45) for IE 6 and 7.
I've tried it on 3 different machines too - always works in Firefox, never in IE.
hmm, must be an ie "feature". i wonder what else fails.
i tested using maxthon (my main browser) and it works as expected. i tested with ie6 (fp 9.0.45) and it fails.
Thanks for checking it.
I've removed the Event.COMPLETE listener altogether now and started using a timer to check if the loaderInfo.bytesLoaded == loaderInfo.bytesTotal, and if it does then it manually calls the onComplete function.
Having just started porting work from AS2 to AS3 and hitting a major issue like this at the first hurdle is not encouraging though.
It works for me from a web server, but not from the file system.
I just gave that a try too.
It worked from the web server the first time, but then failed when I refreshed the page.
You're right. Maybe it's the ActiveX implementation of the player that has
the problem. It'd be interesting to know if the same occurs with an embedded
Flash 9 ActiveX .. anyone out there have one?
Back in the old days I would occasionally see issues with old-school preloaders and IE caches. I'm wondering if something like that could be the issue? Can you add a timestamp onto the end of your request to force it to not load from the cache?
