The alert message is just telling you that a specific feature won't use the GPU. This message is innocuous. It only means that the processing of one specific, obsolete feature will use the CPU, not the GPU.
Are you saying that After Effects won't start or open your project?
i have 10.8.5 osx and 10 gb ram macbook i5 processor
the version of after effects im using is 13.2
but after i click ok on this warning after effects crashes !!
What error message do you get when it crashes? Did you try installing a CUDA driver? Avoid installing NVIDIA CUDA drivers on computers with AMD GPUs
Does this happen when you launch AE by pressing "open" in the Creative Cloud app or clicking on the AE application icon rather than trying to open your project file?
thanks for replying
i dint install cuda drive cause i use Graphics "Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB "
it will crash even if i open via creative cloud app or with AE application icon or by opening a template etc .
plz help !! i have been trying to work on it since 2 days from now !
it just crashes after i press ok to this warning msg
I have created some movies using After Effects but can't open them now because I get the following message:
Ray-tracing on the GPU requires an approved NVIDIA graphics card and CUDA 5.0 or later. For now, ray-tracing will use the GPU.
After installing CUDA 5.0 or later, restart your computer.
i have tried updating to 13.2 back to 13
then use cc cleaner tool to uninstall
installing from setup or creative cloud
removing Adobe in user/username/lib/pref/adobe/aftereffects (also doing read/write on adobe folders )
also adding my card name in the list thru terminal !
i mite have tried a few more things as well !
earlier i had 10.7.2 and AE cs6 used to work
now 10.8.5 it doesnt seem to be working although cs6 photoshop stil works !
PLZ Help .
The error message you're talking about has nothing to do with the crash. It's just a notification and has no effect on how the program will run. Feel free to tick the box in that error message so that it doesn't show it anymore.
Try launching AE again (after disabling that box) and then share your system's crash log with us.
i know that the msg has nothing to do with crash !! but how do i disable the box ?
Look at the message that pops up. There are little boxes on it you can tick and one of them is to never show that message again. (I don't remember the exact wording because I ticked the box on my machines that had the message.)
