    Alpha Glow Striations

    Rich Hall

Hi all, and thanks in advance for any help you might offer:

I opened a Premiere Pro file that I was working on about a month ago to create the final intro splash for a client, one of seven with slight differences but the same general look desired. I used Alpha Glow to pop individual letters of his logo and it worked nicely. I did make changes to the file, but nothing to those letters, and got a rather strange striation of white and black lines off the black "glow". It looks like this now.

So I went back to look at the old movie and it was just fine. It looked like this:

So I went back to the Auto save file, saved 8 minutes after that old movie was made, changed absolutely nothing just told it to render again and it has the exact same issue. Dang. Of interest, the word above "Promo" doesn't have the issue, but the entire line that includes the word "Promo" does. Same settings for all.

I am on a MacBook Pro but also tested the old and new files on the Windows 8.1 machine I just got (yes, whole separate discussion, I know). Anyway, same problem there.

My Alpha Glow settings are ramping from a glow of "0" to "25", holding there for a set number of frames, then dropping back to zero. Brightness is at 255 throughout, with black as the start color, white as the end color, "Use End Color" unchecked and "Fade Out" checked.

      Any help is greatly appreciated!
