1. Re: How to update a dropdown object at Design time ( not Runtime)
BR001 May 17, 2014 6:22 PM (in response to aufer)Hi Aubrey,
At design time you can paste the values of a drop down list from a text file or an Excel spreadsheet.
I think this was added in ES2. Instructions are here LiveCycle ES2 * Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2
Hope they help

aufer May 17, 2014 6:53 PM (in response to BR001)Bruce ,
Thanks for the link.
Gave it a try but it does not work as documented.
Step 3 does not give me a Paste - Just the Add Item.
Even tried unsuccessfully to paste in the List Item (b)
I am using LiveCycle Designer ES v 8.2.1 - Maybe they fixed in ES2 ?
Aubrey
To add items from Excel or text editor
- Select the drop-down list or list box.
- Do one of the following actions:
- In Excel, copy the spreadsheet cells that contain the text (or text and value pair) you want in the drop-down list or list box.
- In a text editor, copy the text (or text and value pair) you want in the drop-down list or list box.
- In the Object palette, click the Field tab, and then click Paste

BR001 May 17, 2014 10:02 PM (in response to aufer)Hi,
I do recall this being added in ES2.
I think your best bet would be to upgrade. Designer ES3 has a lot of improvements.
