From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180

•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 12 with the 12.0.1 update).

•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac"

•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?

•Are you using an account with Administrator Privileges?

Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 (Encore + "All" Premiere)

•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)

•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.

•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?

•What were you doing when the problem occurred?

•What other software are you running?

•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?

          And some other questions...

•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?

•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?

•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 12 with the 12.0.1 update).

            HRM: version 10,0(20110902.Mol11.B123.280463)

•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac"

            HRM: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?

HRM: It has earlier work perfect. I know of no changes in system etc, except for ordinary W7updating. I did sometime ( months before this problem occurred) install a program “ “Driver whiz”… which should handle driver updating… Can this be the reason for the problem … maybe in combination with screencard drivers?

•Are you using an account with Administrator Privileges?

            HRM: Yes

Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 (Encore + "All" Premiere)

HRM: Not sure that I understand if this meens that I should do something here… I am not familiar with what “Encor” is

•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)

            HRM: I automatically update Windows

•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.

HRM: Here is a closer description of the problem: I have imprted the videoclips to work with. I have put them into the Sceneline part of “my screen” When I press the play button under the main window ( the big window up left) the video normally starts running in this window, but now only the sound “runs”… then window has frozen

•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?

HRM: I get no error messages

•What were you doing when the problem occurred?

HRM: Normally working on a project.   ( I have opened other prosjects, that I had finished, and neither they get the video playing in the main window.

•What other software are you running?

            HRM: at the time: none

•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?

            HRM: Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz       35 °C

            Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

            8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 686MHz (9-9-9-24)

            ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8H61-M PRO (LGA1155)    33 °C

            VG800 (1280x1024@60Hz)

            SyncMaster (1360x768@60Hz)

            1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 (CardExpert Technology)   55 °C

112GB Corsair Force 3 SSD ATA Device (SSD)

            Nanoface WDM Audio 2.9.51

            And some other questions...

•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?

HRM: A normal project… I see no red line

•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?

            HRM: 7,7,5    1680,95,13

•Have you viewed the tutorial links at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1275830 page to learn the program?

HRM: I have used the program for a long time, and made some wonderful videos, with music etc…. so I am quite familiar with the program. This “freezing problem” occurred out of the blue sky…
