I am having problems dealing with footnotes.
So when I place text from a word document in Indesign I have the footnotes box ticked so that I get them with text in the report.
I need to be able to cut the footnotes out of the text box where I placed the text from word and paste it in a new text box. When I do so, it leaves a short line that I can not delete or even reach!
Any ideas how I can control my footnotes better when placing text from a word document to indesign.
I have a similar task:
I have a 2 column layout, but the client wants a single column layout.
What I did, I imported the DOC with its footnotes. Then I used a script (which is available from Peter Kahrel — www.kahrel.plus.com) Footnote to Endnote.
Then I took the end of the story string, shortened/deleted the last frame and started to draw text frames from the bottom linked page by page and with text wrap I hindered overlapping text.
Another method would be to use the script Footnote to Text on the same source as the script above.
What do you want to do with your footnotes?
