As one step in an action I create a text layer. I need to pause the action so the user can enter text in the layer. I can pause the action by clicking the Enable Dialog icon to the left of the Create Text Layer step. However, I cannot find a way to continue executing the action after entering the text. What is the right way to do this? Thanks.
Pressing the Commit check mark on the tool options bar or pressing the Enter key should continue the action after the text is entered.
Clicking the Commit Edits button works perfectly. Pressing Enter just adds a new line to the text layer because the text still has focus when the user finishes typing. IAC, problem solved. Thanks.
The Enter key i was referring to is the one grouped with the numeric keypad pad on the far right of the keyboard.
Even though some keyboards have an Enter key grouped with the other main keys, that is really the Return key and is mislabeled
If ones keyboard doesn't have a true enter key, then one can press Ctrl+Enter (windows) or Command+Enter (mac)
