Are the NEF from the same camera that produced the files you were previously able to open?
What camera are you using?
What version of Camera RAW do you have installed (Help > About plugin > Camera RAW)
Yes, The same camera. I can edit JPEG, TIFF but cannot import >NEFs The camera is Nikon D7100. Camera raw is the one with Photoshop CC isn't it? DO I need to reinstall Camera Raw?
I think an antivirus/antimalware program deleted some file needed to allow PS CC to work correctly
Camera Raw 126.96.36.199
That is the correct—and also the current and latest version of ACR.
Have you used any Nikon software to transfer or move your NEF files? Nikon software is notorious for permanently corrupting files it touches in any way.
You don't give more details, so I can't help you; but for next time, if you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand, such as your platform (Mac or Win), exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop and of Bridge, machine specs, what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, what error message(s) you receive, if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them, etc., someone may be able to help you.

Thanks, you were correct. Apparently, for some reason, the Nikon View NX and Transfer corrupted the files in moving from the camera to my computer. After re downloading everything, NIkon Codecs, Photoshop, etc, I decided to check and see if I could open any other, previously opened folders and photos, and they opened in ACR without a problem. Thanks very much for your help.
Someone posted a link to an app that might repair the corrupted NEF files a few days ago. I don't know which one they recommended, but there are heaps to choose from on Google See LINKS
Unless someone joins this thread with specific information, you'll have to either rely on Google, or go ask in one of the Nikon forums on DPReview
That would be me
The poster in that other thread came back and reported successful recovery of all files. I've never needed it myself, but this comes up a lot in the Lightroom forum, so that's how I knew about it.
Thank you I will try these!
Will try these, Thank you!
