Jacob Bugge Sep 7, 2014 1:26 PM (in response to Hei-Marie)Marie, Bernard,
What happens if you save to PDF and use that or send that to the printer?

3. Re: why does the illustrator cc revert fonts back to myriad pro
BernardM1955 Sep 8, 2014 9:32 AM (in response to Jacob Bugge)Well, in my case, if I copy a piece of text in a certain file A to a file B, then save and close file B, when I return to file, the piece of text I just copied reverts to Myriad Pro right there in my face without me doing anything. It took a while for me to notice the fact, and since this file A is some kind of a reference for many text pieces, it was totally messed up.
Now, I just undo with crtl-z everytime I use something in that A file.
I'm really bothered by that bug...

Jacob Bugge Sep 8, 2014 12:44 PM (in response to BernardM1955)Bernard,
There is no strange EULA issue with Garamond, preventing your use of it?

7. Re: why does the illustrator cc revert fonts back to myriad pro
BernardM1955 Sep 8, 2014 1:03 PM (in response to Jacob Bugge)Sorry, I have no idea of what you are referring to by EULA. And I dont use Garamond, those text elements are in Times New Roman, Symbol and MT Extra...

10. Re: why does the illustrator cc revert fonts back to myriad pro
BernardM1955 Sep 8, 2014 1:51 PM (in response to Larry G. Schneider)To be honest, this file was created a long time ago as a receptacle for text elements I use in my drawings. Every time I update to a new release of Illustrator, I make sure this file is saved in the newest format. Concerning the fonts, I never used any special option and this problem started with Illustrator CC (2014).
But then again, tell me where I should take a look to checkout what you are referring to.

11. Re: why does the illustrator cc revert fonts back to myriad pro
Larry G. Schneider Sep 8, 2014 2:38 PM (in response to BernardM1955)When you resave the file do you set the top option in the AI Save Options (Fonts:) to 0% which will force the complete font to be embedded in the file?

Larry G. Schneider Sep 8, 2014 3:23 PM (in response to BernardM1955)These are the only two reports of this happening so I'm not sure what to say. It's as though AI thinks it is opening a new file.

WMLHLC Dec 2, 2014 10:13 AM (in response to Larry G. Schneider)I have several designers who are experiencing the same issue with Illustrator CC 2014. I can't seem to find any pattern.
