JSS1138 May 27, 2014 8:59 AM (in response to chuck farris)I'd use the Ingest feature of Prelude for this.

chuck farris May 27, 2014 10:42 AM (in response to JSS1138)Thanks for the reply, Jim. Can you elaborate on the workflow for this please, please?
And have you worked with XDCAM HD 422 in Prelude? Thanks
Also, in an update, my friend's client wants ProRes 422, so it looks like I will be using AME on my Mac.
Still wading through the Sony site looking for drivers.

3. Re: XDCAM HD to MOV?
JSS1138 May 28, 2014 10:48 AM (in response to chuck farris)There's not much to elaborate on. You open Prelude, click the Ingest button, navigate to your media and select the desired clips. The options for transcoding will be to the right and fairly self-evident.

chuck farris May 28, 2014 11:57 AM (in response to JSS1138)Thanks Jim. I keep meaning to try Prelude...
What would be the advantage of Prelude over AME? -
5. Re: XDCAM HD to MOV?
JSS1138 May 28, 2014 12:00 PM (in response to chuck farris)Prelude actually uses AME for the actual transcoding. However, it will correctly read spanned media, whereas AME will not if you start from there.
